progeCAD reviews from real customers

As an engineer, I've been using AutoCAD for years, so I had some definite ideas of what I needed out of progeCAD. After trying the free trial, I could immediately tell it was an exceptional value. It has met and exceeded my expectations — and for a fraction of the cost of AutoCAD, with the added bonus that there is no recurring subscription fee. If you're a long-time user of AutoCAD like myself, you will find transitioning to progeCAD to be a seamless process.

The progeCAD product has worked out tremendously well. I did not need a fancy Revit program — I really needed just a very good CAD program for doing lighting and electrical layouts. After putting to trial a half dozen candidates, I chose progeCAD for their wonderful screen and program layout, and they were the most supportive. I am amazed how smoking fast I can make bulk modifications to fixture symbols.

It has been a pleasure working with your product. I have been an AutoCAD user for many decades, and was very skeptical. When my home computer hard drive crashed it seemed like a logical time to install progeCAD — and I have not been disappointed. The product is very intuitive and familiar compared to what I have used previously. I was able to quickly get up to speed, leaving all the other drafting programs I have used in the rear view mirror.

progeCAD beats AutoCAD in my book. Performs all the tasks I need at a much more attractive price. Customer support is much better as well — a big plus!

I use progeCAD to design furniture that I build for my children and grandchildren. As a user of AutoCAD for many years the transition was easy, and I enjoy all the program features.

A great, affordable alternative to AutoCAD. Once I retired, I needed to keep using CAD drawings to help design renovations to our all-volunteer community Grange Hall. We've used my drawings to add an ADA entrance, renovate the bathrooms, add a new fire exit, add a wheelchair lift, and install fresh-air ventilation. I would not have been able to afford to do this volunteer work without progeCAD.

This message is not to complain or ask a question but to thank you for creating a very useful alternative to AutoCAD. I have been using AutoCAD for well over 30 years but stopped due to their horrendous licensing and pricing. I ran trials on several CAD apps until I ran across yours. Within an hour of use, I was completely sold on progeCAD. It has all the functions, commands and GUI of AutoCAD but is faster and easier to use.

I have used AutoCAD as an engineer for over 40 years. In mid-2025 I made the switch to progeCAD. I am pleased that progeCAD offers a single user license option and a maintenance subscription at reasonable costs. I have not had any problems opening existing AutoCAD drawings, nor saving to the various formats available. I am impressed with the ease of use and the features offered.

I was an AutoCAD customer for about 20 years, and when they sent me an email telling me my new license would cost $1,600 I told my wife it was time for my retirement. A friend mentioned progeCAD, so I checked — and it was love at first sight. The program is wonderful. The best part is the price, and better yet, similar to AutoCAD you don't have to spend time learning how to use it.

I have been using AutoCAD since the 80s and Inventor for the past 10 years. I also taught AutoCAD and design courses for the local apprentice program and at the community college. I had a project for a volunteer organization I support and did not want to use the company software. A co-worker told me about progeCAD. There was no learning curve for me, and the software performed flawlessly.

It was the mid-to-late 80s when I first began using AutoCAD as a product designer. When I retired in 2004 that was the end of accessing upgrades — I couldn't justify the expense of new releases. Now with progeCAD I have software that works perfectly with all my existing drawings and lets me create new ones without any additional training. I want to compliment you for making this available at such a reasonable cost.

I'm retired now, but I worked as a mechanical draftsman my whole career. AutoCAD with 3D was too pricy for my budget. I was very lucky to find progeCAD, and I'm still working with this program practically every day and enjoying every minute. If someone asked me to give up progeCAD, I would fight to keep it. Another very good part is that all AutoCAD drawings transfer to progeCAD completely.

I'm brand new to progeCAD. I design and build custom guitars. For the last year I'd been using SolidEdge on a grant program, but the insane amount for their licenses was just not justifiable. progeCAD does everything I need for a fraction of the cost. All my designs are now happening in progeCAD and exporting straight into my CNC router program. progeCAD has not disappointed.

It has completely met my expectations. With it, I was able to redraw 5 years of manual drawings, which was my original goal. Since having progeCAD and all my drawings now electronic, customizing equipment for my customers has become a real joy and amazingly efficient. In the old days when I had AutoCAD I had the full version and used the 3D extensively. Over the years their software would outdate itself in the PC upgrade cycles, and I could no longer afford it, and lost the ability to do 3D work. I used lite versions for the last 14 years. This program is amazing. Truly amazing. I have already designed half a dozen new devices in 3D for my colleagues.

I am extremely impressed with your product and its value. I am an AutoCAD LT user and your system is vastly superior. I am 79 years old and I have never done three dimensional drawings — it is something I've wanted to do for years, but to do it with AutoCAD would have cost megabucks and AutoCAD isn't really user-friendly. I recommend progeCAD as an excellent substitute for AutoCAD LT.

Just a short note to say how much I am enjoying my progeCAD system. I am a small shop doing design, mechanical and structural for rebuilds of existing industrial refrigeration systems. I am able to easily integrate AutoCAD drawings into my progeCAD drawings, and I'm currently creating 3D renderings of old piping systems. Highly recommend this cost effective system for those not wanting to pay monthly fees.

I was just commenting to an associate this morning on how much I enjoy your program. When you have more than one line, polyline or hatch on separate layers and want to perform an action on just one element, the program asks which to perform the action on. The version 2008 AutoCAD I replaced with progeCAD was not capable of recognizing multiple layers. This is a big deal for me. I love this program.

This is a wonderful CAD program. I have been using it now, and it has worked very well. For land surveyors this is the drafting program to use.

I started with AutoCAD back in the 80s. As a small business owner, I never had time for formal training. I have only been using progeCAD a few days but believe I am pretty much as efficient with it as I am with AutoCAD. Thank you for being true to your statement of compatibility — it has made my life much easier and more productive.

I love progeCAD! I initially used it in a previous job and never had a glitch, and I was able to seamlessly integrate your software into my AutoCAD environment at a fraction of the cost. Years later I purchased progeCAD for home use and I can now edit old CAD drawings and create new ones. The interface is easy to use and didn't hurt any family budget constraints.

I am a retired civil engineer and I used AutoCAD in my work. I am currently using progeCAD to create art graphics, which I combine with photographs to create digital images. I am very satisfied with the program. The commands are very similar to AutoCAD, so no special learning was necessary. I was able to open AutoCAD drawings, PDF images, and even drawings made with nanoCAD.

I am very pleased with the 2025 version of progeCAD. I am just approaching retirement and will be using it to design a few fun boats that I have been thinking about for years but didn't have time to do. A very good product for a very good price.

Not that you need to hear it, but I am really surprised at how there's no adjustment. I used AutoCAD full-time for 25 years up until 2015, and this works perfect.

This is the greatest CAD set up that I have had. I really like the software and my honeymoon period is still not over with progeCAD. I still really enjoy it and have recommended it to friends.
