How to choose

Match the tool to what you need.

You want to avoid subscriptions

progeCAD ($540), ActCAD and SmartCAD sell perpetual licenses. Over several years a one-time price usually costs less than a yearly plan. See no-subscription CAD.

You need 3D solids

progeCAD Professional includes 3D ACIS solid modeling in its one price. On ActCAD, DraftSight and SmartCAD, solid or 3D modeling is part of a higher edition (ActCAD Premium, DraftSight Premium, SmartCAD Professional).

You're on a Mac

iCADMac is progeCAD's Mac-native edition with native DWG and a one-time perpetual license at $925. See CAD software for Mac.
