I stumbled across what looks like a very useful application for the iPhone which can be used to document dimensions on almost anything. If you have an iPhone, and are in the business of creating products, or buildings, you may want to look up this very inexpensive (around $4 I think) application to help document your projects…
I can see this little piece of code used for documenting existing structures, for as-builts, or for product research before design.
What the application does is allow you to take a picture, say of a room you are tasked with decorating, or of the front lawn of a home you need to landscape. You then measure using your ordanary measuring instrument (calipers, tape measures, laser based satellite recording device, heheh), and record the dimensions just as you would in a progeCAD drawing. You can then save your work, refer to it later on your iPhone, email it to yourself or others, etc.
Seems useful to somebody I would think…
